Our practice no longer uses Quest Laboratory

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

We regret to inform you that, effective February 14, 2011, our practice will no longer process laboratory services through Quest Diagnostics.  We reached this decision because of  Quest Diagnostics’ many laboratory processing errors (mishandling of blood) and difficulty in obtaining test results.  Quest’s consistently poor performance has resulted in the need for repeat blood draws and delayed care because of unavailable results.  Our repeated efforts to remedy these problems with Quest have been fruitless.

If your insurance company maintains an exclusive contract with Quest Diagnostics, you will have the following two options for obtaining lab studies:

  1. You may use laboratory services provided by LabCorp.
  2. You may continue using exclusive, in-network services through Quest Diagnostics.  We will provide written laboratory requisitions with appropriate codes but you will be responsible for obtaining your test results and providing them to us.

We regret the inconvenience that results from your insurance company’s exclusive contract with Quest Diagnostics.
