Patients that would like to receive a flu vaccine from our office must be current. Current patients are those who have kept their last routine follow-up appointment. You may make a follow-up appointment at the time of your vaccination if you are not current but still wish to get the vaccine from our office.
* Flumist only recommended for patients ages 2-49 without egg allergy or immunodeficiency.
**If you need Seasonal Flu Vaccine please check with your local pharmacy as we no longer have it available.
*Seasonal Flumist can be given 2 weeks after H1N1 Flumist.
*Must be Eligible for H1N1 Flumist. Those eligible are:
- Ages 2-49 years
- At least 2 weeks since getting Seasonal Flumist, and 4 weeks between 2 H1N1 doses.
- At least 28 days after the onset of influenza
- At least 14 days since the last dose of Tamiflu
- Asthma stable, no active asthma flare, should be in green zone for at least one week
- No immunosuppressive drugs, no daily prednisone, no cyclosporine, no methotrexate
- Patients with immunodeficiency must be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Cannot be actively ill; no fever, no prominent nasal symptoms, must be at least 2 weeks out from the start of the last infection
- <10 years old require 2 H1N1 vaccine doses
